That's actually a great idea. However, before we can do that we need to get the server and spawn in order again.
I can dedicate some time today toward rebuilding spawn and fixing some of the public areas in game. Also, @ZebularGaming has decided to use our server for his YouTube videos. He has "130+ subscribers" so we can reach that audience if he gives permission.
As for promoting the voting system, @MACMAN may be considering it as a requirement for staying on the whitelist. While I'm all for having a requirement for staying whitelisted, I personally agree with many of the players when they say that forcing votes is like making the server a subscription based server.
@ZebularGaming stated and I agree that this course of action isn't the best idea. It would likely cause many players to dislike the server policies and overall generate negative PR, which is the opposite of what we need.
We definitely need to think of whitelist requirements that are more suitable for both the players and server. Currently, both @MACMAN and I have been accepting players who state that they have read the rules and agree to their terms. However, both of us have been relatively relaxed about these requirements. I've actually noticed that many of the most recent applications have been a near copy and paste of the original post by @MACMAN.
I'll bring this up further with @MACMAN on skype, but any ideas that the players bring up should be considered as well. I recommend that MACMAN should make a globally-pinned post asking for player opinions and broadcast the link in the game chat.
I'll be offline for most of the day, but will keep tabs on the forums occasionally. I'll see everyone in game later!
