As you may or may not know minecraft supports something called SRV records.
cc3.chilliserver.com is a server record and your client should be able to determine how to get to it and that host will not be pingable.
The fact that 1000's of players have been able to connect using that address (and thats how I connect) tells me your service providers DNS are not looking up SRV records.
In a lot of cases the host not found message can be seen when you have a blank space at the end of the hostname this can often happen when copy and pasting, I have seen it a ton of times.
